BRAZIL, the "B" of the BRIC countries, is on the rise as one of the largest and fastest-growing economies in the world and foreign investments are on the leading edge of this phenomena. The 2016 Olympic Games and the 2014 Soccer World Cup are fueling attention and investments in Brazil. The sprawling State of Sao Paulo is one of the biggest financial centers in the world and it attracts companies and investment from all over the world. Rio de Janeiro's large oil coast discovery is making it a prime location for foreign investors. The state of Minas Gerais has emerged as one of the largest economic forces in Brazil by exploring its great economic potential. In the North of the country, new infrastructure is being constructed by the government and the sale of ocean side property is booming. In the South of Brazil, where Europeans have mostly settled, one finds greatly increased opportunity for investment and tourism. One of the purposes of this blog is to inform readers of business opportunities in Brazil and to connect those readers with experienced attorneys who are familiar with the Brazilian legal system. It is our goal to post information and articles from both the Brazilian and American points of view regarding business transactions, immigration, labor laws, etc in Brazil. We want to keep our readers informed about arbitration & mediation and the Brazilian court system. It is our wish to post some helpful insights into the way the Brazilian economy functions in areas such as Immigration, Environmental issues, Brazilian labor laws and relevant treaties.
